I am going to suggest you about protection
Most of the time user does'nt use security

• Use WPA2 (wifi protected access version 2)  strong security 

• WEP cheap security most of the time it will hacked

•  Use MAC filter 

• Always making changes in passowrds.

• Minimise the range of wireless signals

• Make network encryption
